“A hidden gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

Great way to get a panoramic view of Washington, DC. While the Washington Monument remains closed this is the only way to see the whole area at once. The history of the building itself is very interesting. An architectural gem. The clock tower view will remain open to the public after the Trump Corp takes over the rest of the building. The National Park Service employees were informative and very helpful. Another great, free opportunity in DC!

“Climb the tower”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

We had a viator sightseeing tour starting at the Old Post Office, which is an attraction on itself.Admire the architecture of the building outside and climb the tower for free. You will be surprised about the view and the opportunity for great picture taking.

“1st Post Office Goes Commercial”

Wonderful building with marble moldings and trim - gone commercial with lots of shops. Ben Franklin made us proud.

“Great views!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

The Washington monument was closed but i think this might be the easiest great view in the city. We went on a Friday around lunchtime and there was no wait for the elevators (yes, you take on to floor 9 and then another to the top).
You have to come in from the back of the pavillion and then head straight throught the food court to the far left corner.
The views are spectacular. My kids were a bit afraid of the fact that the windows did not have glass, just wires, but it seemed fine to me.
This is a quick walk from the Mall, on Pennsylvania.
The building itself is like an overcrowded mall food court. It reeks of fried food. But the kids did enjoy Ben and Jerrys as a treat inside, a nice storefront with lots of options.

“Great view from the tower”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012 via mobile

The views are, indeed, great and on a clear day you can see for miles. It's is also free. The building itself is sadly underused and has an indifferent food court and a few tourist shops which look as if they are struggling to keep going.

Overall worth going in if you are passing, not really otherwise UNLESS it is a clear day
