As ex service personnel from England this really appealed to me and it didn't disappoint!
The band was brilliant, especially not using music sheets, and they sure played a lot of music and their marching was spot on.
The silent drill outstanding and nerve racking
In fact the whole show was the best parade I have ever seen by any of the services including the UK!
All the marines who were there were so friendly and polite, a credit to your country.
Definitely need to take a fold up chair and blanket as it did rather chilly

The grounds are small and a lot of folks want to attend. The show is great and the area is safe. About 2 blocks south of the subway, on the same street. Get your tickets early in the year, it sell out fast. A number of places to eat on the block just north of 8th & I.

Impressive! Makes you happy to be American. Make sure you get there early. I've been to the one on Tuesday and the one on Friday. Both are amazing. The band and silent drill platoon never cease to amaze. Those guys are so talented

This was the last U.S. Marine Sunset Parade of the season at the Barracks and I'm so glad I got the chance to go. A nice young Marine gave me a ticket while I was waiting in the general admission line. If you don't have a reservation you'll have to wait and hope you get a seat. I heard that the Arlington parade was nice also, just a little shorter. But I guarantee they don't have handsome young men in uniform escorting you to your seat like they do at the barracks. It was such a nice way to start the evening. I have to say that the atmosphere of being inside the barracks really made this a spectacular parade. Everything is done with military precision. I left the parade feeling super proud to be an American.

This Friday night event is worth seeing. The Marine Band and the silent drill team are a pleasure to watch. The precision marching and rifle swapping require skills that few can match.
Tickets are obtained in advance.
