“To the moon”
Reviewed March 31, 2012

This museum carried more than expected. The planes we real full to size. To see the old commercial planes brought back memories. The military planes, brought me back to days as a AF brat. From the Wright brothers to space all in one place! With the 2nd largest Mcds on earth :-)

“Excellent, and more Excellent!”
Reviewed March 31, 2012

You have to travel outside of DC to get here, but you can do it via the trains and then take a cab. So you do not have to rent a car. We got there as a tour was just leaving and they asked if you wanted a two hour tour or a four hour tour. There were mixed reviews and most wanted the four hour tour. We wanted the two hour tour because we had to get back to DC for rest before our dinner reservations. One very nice tour guide as a vetran from WW2 offered to take us on the two hour tour and we ended up pretty much getting a private tour with him and only two other people. It was awesome as he told us of his history about the airplanes and flying them in WW2. Most tour guides are vetrans and very knowledgeble. It was awesome and my hubby and I had the best personal tour of the museum. I grew up with NASA in Houston (aka Clear Lake City) TX, so I am a huge fan of the vetrans as well as our astronauts. My husband is as well. Possibly the best tour ever, but that was only because of our wonderful guide who had the best stories as he told us his background and history with each aircraft. I only wish everyone could have as great a tour as we did. Good luck, it is a museum that should not be missed. However, it did take us a few years to get there. If you can't make it on one visit, make it on the next one!

“Bring a lunch”
Reviewed March 30, 2012

We spent six hours there. Loved looking at the aircraft. Loved the educational displays. Weren't terribly impressed with the IMAX films. Was very UNIMPRESSED with the food availability. McDonalds was all there was. If I go back, I'll carry a brown bag.
