“Great for families”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2014

Great place to explore with the family. The whole area is beautifully landscaped, and there are a few different memorials in the region to take in. Park leads right up to capitol hill as well, so give yourself the time to properly explore the area, and bring sunscreen as there isn't as much shade as expected.

If you get a good day, it'll be a memorable one! The place is absolutely humongous, and trying to do it all in one day is exceptionally ambitious. We went in July and it was quite hot, so the sun took a toll on our endurance. We did manage to visit a lot of the tourist attractions, but it would have been better to pace ourselves and spent more time in DC :)

“a vacation in itself!”

If you don't go anywhere else in DC you need to walk the grounds of the National Mall! With some of the worlds best museums it will take you at least a week to go through all of them.

“A beautiful Walk In The Most Beautiful Surroundings.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2014

The National Mall can be a mammoth task to take upon oneself if wishing to visit everything on offer around the perimeter. If you go to the Capitol Building you will see the history of the Mall from the creation to current day.

We visited in the winter, and would love to visit again during the summer months when one hopes that this place would come alive!

“Lovely day walking the national mall”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014 via mobile

A must must must do if you are visiting Washington! Depending on where you are staying, can do it from one end to the other. We started at the Capitol building and walked across to Arlington cemetery. There are the city bike stops along the way if you would like a break from walking, as well as cabs, buses and the subway.
Take good walking shoes and have your camera ready! Lots to do and see. You will need more time if you would like to look in the museums along the way, but you may chose to revisit these another day.
