The National Mall was the center of our trip to DC. We walked along it to get to various memorials. We hung out and relaxed when we needed a break. Great place to enjoy a sunny day!

Although overcast it was a lovely walk with all the trees in bloom. Kids loved it. Got to see many historical sights. Worth the time and effort.

The Mall is a must see and it gives you great views of so many sights in the city. A nice stroll on a warm day is the best! You can get an incredible view of the Washington Monument, the Cherry Blossoms, and many more.

If you go to D.C., you of course should consider walking the National Mall. In fact, you will likely end up there whether you make it a specific point or not, considering that most of the major sites in D.C. lie near or along it. We walked from the capitol to the Lincoln Memorial, then on to the Jefferson Memorial, and that was about a half-day trip in all if you take it easy. It probably could be walked in less time if you rushed through, though.

We recently visited D.C.. It was my first time. I was amazed by this area. It was so beautiful, even on a rainy day. There is so much to see and do around it! It takes 3-4 days to soak it all in properly. Unfortunately, we only had one day. But it was one day very well spent! Just beautiful - a must visit to add to your travel map. Snag some lunch from a street vendor, sit on one of many benches or lounge in the grass and take it all in.
