I could spend a month at the mall and still not see everything. My husband and I enjoy all the museums and never have enough time at one. Our fav is the air and space and the art

National Mall
What an awe inspiring place of memorabilia! The evidence of famous presidents through to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Be sure to take your walking shoes and spend the day!

Even though there are some construction areas within the grassy parts, the mall is just a neat place to be, close to everything DC really, and the views, monuments, and people are cool to see.

The National Mall stretches from Capitol Hill at one end to the Lincoln Memorial at the other, which is in excess of 2 miles long. Roughly in the middle is the Washington Monument, numerous other sites can be found within the National Mall such as a large number of the Smithsonian museums, the WWII and Vietnam memorial's to name but a few.
The best way to see all of this is to walk, even if you do not stop at the sites but walk a complete circuit it is likely to take a few hours. As there is so much to see, and if you do not have a lot of time on your hands, choose the sites you wish to explore carefully & prioritize. We spent 4 days in Washington DC and the bulk of the attractions we were interested in were centred around the National Mall and we barely scratched the surface of the sites to see.

I'm really impressed. This place is huge and there are many things worth to see. The place is well organized and it reflects the history of the US. The environment is so fresh. You will have refreshing feeling there, at the same time discover the history of the nation.
