“World-Class Art Museum”

Growing up in the DC suburbs, I went to the NGA several times as a child. I still love going in when I can. Amazing, amazing collection. I especially love their American painting galleries.

“Art and Sculpture Dream Come True!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

When Going to this place plan on spending two plus hours of viewing. In addition if carrying large to medium size travel bags be prepared to check them in. There is no cost for this service. The museum admission is free. Beautiful sculptures and art work dating back to the early 1500's. The building itself is huge and the wood flooring and different styled walls are beautiful. Most of the museum is camera friendly few rooms do not allow pictures. This place is not for very young children as this is very expensive art work. Definitely a must see experience for Artist and sculpture enthusiast.

“Fantastic Gallery for all ages”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

This was yet another gem that I would have passed over as it sounds boring....but wow! We spent about 2 1/2 hours there and did not see everything. There's paintings, sculptures and all sorts of genres; popular, classics, an awesome presidential portrait gallery and galleries of different topics/people, for example there was a room that chronicled the life of Amelia Earhart.

Don't try to rush through the National Gallery. Take your time and enjoy. The collection is good and the special exhibits always worth seeing.
