“SEGWAY~~ What a way to go!!!!”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

I've always wanted to try a Segway, and what a place to do it in! Our guide Charlie was very friendly and helpful and gave us two "newbies" lots of tips on how to ride safely thru the streets of D.C. We toured at the 1:30 p.m. time on a day that had POURED rain in the morning, so we were the only 2 on the tour. It was great because we got to customize the route to what WE wanted to see. We were provided all of the safety equipment, and bottles of water for our tour. I can't believe how much ground we were able to cover!! Segways are totally the way to go!!! DO IT!!!!!

“Good service, easy, convenient location”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

Rented bikes from their Old Post Office location. Got there early, it was uncrowded, staff was very helpful and got us out and on the bikes in no time. Took the Mt Vernon Trail from their location out to Mt Vernon (19 miles one way) and back. The trail was very nice, along the Potomac most of the way. We went at 10AM on a weekday. I suspect the trail is much more crowded on the weekends and might not be quite as enjoyable. A fund and different way to spend the better part of a day in DC. Bikes were in good shape and reliable. The only difficulty is that around and through Alexandria the trail is not always as clear as might be nice, but the bike shop has maps and can help describe where you need to go. Would recommend this to those who wanted to get out and get a little exercise, see Mt Vernon, and have beautiful scenery along the Potomac.

“best bike I have rented”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

The Trek Hybrid ("performance") bike I rented twice last weekend from Bike and Roll was fresh and new. I mention this because so many times rental bikes are tired or clunky. Perfect bike for the bike trail along the Potomac River - quick enough to be fun, but stable enough to ride in all the traffic on the weekend. These trails are Busy on the weekend! It's no real surprise- the trails are a wonderful asset to the area. I went home having "trail envy". D.C. has amazing trail assets. I "share the roads" as best I can at home. D.C. area reminds me a bit of bike trails in Europe-a hopeful trend!

“Best way to see the most in DC”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

Rented a comfort hybrid with my friend for a few hours as a quicker way to see more of the Mall. Staff is very friendly, helpful, and any way else you can describe a generally pleasant person. Got us exactly what we needed, didn't push anything more, and even offered directions for how to get to the spots we wanted to see. Bikes were VERY comfortable and held up great as we traveled around all day. Saw the Jefferson, FDR, and MLK memorials all the way up to the Capitol/Library of Congress plaza in the first part of the afternoon. For anyone who has ever walked between those areas, you understand how much time, exhaustion, and blisters you'll save by renting a bike.

Bikes came with a lock, travel bag, and an optional helmet. If you rent, a bottle of water is only $1 extra.

3-4 hours seeing most of the Mall only costed about $25. MORE THAN WORTH IT

“Couldn't have seen all of Washington without Bike and Roll”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

We really could not have seen everything that we did without the help of the bikes. We rode over the bridge to Arlington and saved the money from the cab! It was a great way to see EVERYTHING. The guys that rented us the bikes were extremely nice and helpful. I give the whole experience two thumbs up!
