We took our two teens- 13 and 15 on the night monuments tour. Of course they initially balked at the thought of biking four miles! But once we started, never a complaint. Our guide Chris was exremely knowledgeable. The monuments lit up at night were a beautiful sight to see, and we saw some monuments that we might have otherwised passed by, like FDR's which, without a guide, would not have been the same. Oh yes, and much more pleasant to ride at night, as well. N.B. Ask for AAA discount. Another tip- there is a mall right next door to the gathering site, where you can pick up a quick meal, and not worry about being late.

We had a very good introduction of what to see around the Mall. This gave us an idea about what to explore further during our visit to Washington. A very nice and competent guide who knew a lot about the things he indtroduced us to. I recommend to rent a bicycle for individual rides as well, as we nearly killed our feet by walking around for two full days.

Traveled with my husband, 11 yo daughter and 9 yo son and did the bike at night monument tour. We ride bikes frequently, but the ride is really not too difficult, so would be OK for novices.

Mary was our guide and she was FANTASTIC! We started out at 6:30, so it was still light out, but by the time we were 1/2 way through, it was getting dark. Headlights and flashing taillights were added to the bikes as we were visiting the monuments (although some were not very bright). We rode mainly on sidewalks or hard packed gravel paths.

We did this on the 3rd night of our visit, but I actually think this would have been a great thing to do on your first night. It gives you a great overview of the monuments and it was really nice to be there at night when it was much cooler - could have avoided the other monument tours altogether - this covered it all.

We had actually booked our tour for a different night, but the weather looked like it was going to rain on that night. I called and we were easily rescheduled to an earlier night - it couldn't have been easier and the service couldn't have been better.

Highly recommend this to anyone! I'd do their tours in other cities without hesitation.

The monument tour at night was by far our favorite way to see the sights. It was less crowded then during the day, and our guides were fun and full of knowledge. Our 6 year old loved riding the tandum bike with his Dad. I'm sure that is a memory that will last a lifetime. Our 9 year old enjoyed the independence of her own bike and was the perfect age to absorb the history lessons. We highly recommend Bike & Roll.

My family LOVED this tour! We were able to see more sites in 2 hours than we could have by walking. After riding by the sites (including the White House) we had a pretty good idea of which ones to go back and visit. It took 5 minutes to learn how to ride a Segway. Pretty soon everyone was rolling around like pro's. The guide wears a headset and riders earbuds so you hear everything he or she is saying. The teens had a great time. In fact, my one son said It was the most fun he has ever had. (He's been to DW several times, on cruises etc) so that says alot. My husband thought cruising down Pennsylvania Avenue was cool. It is DEFINITELY worth the $59.00 price tag. We would like to go back to D.C. and do it again! Go and have some fun!!!!! Just a quick tip: You must be 16yrs old to ride the Segways and take your video camera!
