“Ideal Monuments Tour”
Reviewed May 5, 2012

After walking and standing in so many museums, taking a break to bicycle around the monuments on a beautiful fall afternoon was perfect! Our family of 4 (11 and 13 y.o.) loved hopping on bikes at the Bike and Roll's location close to the Mall and then leisurely touring all of the major monuments, including the ones farther out on the Tidal Basin, over a 2 hour period. It was so pleasant to bicycle from monument to monument rather than walk. We did not find it difficult navigating around tourists or through traffic on the short distances we had to be on sidewalks in the city. Bike and Roll's bicycles were well maintained, their instructions great, and the helmets essential. Highly recommended both as a way to tour the monuments and as a way to banish museum fatigue!

“Highlight of our trip to DC”
Reviewed May 3, 2012

Our kids (ages 7 and 9) would definitely say that THEIR favorite part of our spring break trip to Washington DC was renting bikes thru Bike and Roll!! We thought we'd rent the bikes for a few hours, but ended up spending the entire day on our bikes, rode back to their spot at the Old Post Office, and the wonderful staff happily adjusted our paperwork to let us keep the bikes overnight. We rode more thru DC and the bell staff at our hotel kept our bikes overnight. It was great fun to pop on our bikes the next morning, to see more sites and ride a bit more thru DC. Can't say enough good things about the friendly, helpful, accomodating Bike and Roll staff that we met -- definitely 5 stars! They also happily stored some bulky stuff for us, so we wouldn't have to juggle it on our bikes.

Riding around the Tidal Basin and memorials on bikes was incredible. Being on bikes allowed us to have fun getting around, and we got to explore each memorial at our leisure. Plus - after days of walking around DC and Smithsonian museums, with sore calf muscles, it was great to use different muscles to get around! The bikes were great quality, and very easy to ride.

We rented a tandem bike for our 7 year old. She loved it! It allowed her to feel safe with Dad doing the steering, but she got to participate as well.

Actually, we had so much fun, that when we got home to San Francisco, we went out the very next day and rented bikes from Bike and Roll in our own city -- to have fun as "tourists" along the San Francisco Bay waterfront for an afternoon.

Excellent way to see the monuments. Our guides were excellent, we saw everything we wanted to see in a leisurely manner. I would highly recommend Bike & Roll. I was impressed that water and a granola bar was provided.

“Only way to go!”
Reviewed May 3, 2012

Great for an introduction to the Washington Mall. We had a cycle tour of the major monuments and sights at a leisurely pace with good explanations. We were provided an overall orientation of the mall and its highlights, it helps to decide on what to concentrate on. The only drawback is that there is so much to see that you don't have much time to explore the individual monuments. IT's good for anyone who can ride a bike.

“Best way to see the DC monuments!”
Reviewed May 3, 2012

In mid-April my husband and I and our 4 & 6 year old daughters spent 5 days sightseeing in DC. Every day was great, but the day that we rented 2 trail-a-bikes from B&R was the absolute best day of our trip. We did not go on a Bike & Roll tour, but B&R did suggest a good DC Mall route to us, which we followed - terrific. I highly recommend.
