Owner description: Springtime in Washington means the explosion of white-pink clouds of cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin.

Well shaded and beautiful trail around the monuments. It is just a very pretty place next to the Jefferson monument.

This basin leads to the Lincoln memorial.. So you din't really ahve a choice to pass by it. It's nice because of its position, but there's nothing special to it.

The Tidal Basin is a beautiful place to take a nice long walk. Beautiful sights and scenery such as the Jefferson Memorial, Roosevelt Memorial, Martin Luther King Memorial, planes landing at nearby Reagan airport, ducks, birds, squirrels, etc.

If you are in Washington in nearly any season and like to be outdoors, a walk around the Tidal Basin is recommended. Not far from the Mall and wonderful museums of the Smithsonian, this is a great antidote for museum fatigue.

It was a very long walk, but so glad we did it. Otherwise we never would have visited the Martin Luther King Memorial - which was very impressive. We did not stay there long, as we were headed to the FDR Memorial.
