The kids really enjoyed the museum. We could have spent all day there. The dinosaur and ocean exhibits were their favorites. The storage lockers were a huge bonus as well. However, they charged us $1 for a map, even thought it was a "suggested donation." There was nothing suggested about it. The man at the counter would not let us take more than one, which we paid for.

Thank Dana S

“Great for Kiddo's”
Reviewed March 22, 2014

We took our ten year old and went back a second day because there was just so much to see he was afraid he missed something. Love the gem stone section. Butterfly garden does cost extra to see but fee goes for the upkeep of the garden. Very educational in a fun interactive way. Lunch in the cafeteria can be pricey..so bring your own if your on a budget.

“Another Winner”

This must be one of the best exhibitions of its kind anywhere in the world. The exhibits and presentation are quite incredible and you could not fail to learn something new. We will return in the not too distant future.

“Loved this place!”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

This museum was SO cool- I could spend a day in here. Perfect for a date, perfect for families, perfect for a group of twenty year old girls, apparently.. and free! Who could ask for more? There were tons of different exhibits with different approaches that would appeal to different learning types. There were things on display, things to read, things you could touch, movies to watch, and some interactive things. I sat down in a booth that emailed me a picture of what I would have looked like as a neanderthal (for free, and only for that purpose- no spam emails later). Even the gift shops were reasonably priced. Definitely is a must see if you're in DC.

“Good Location”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

It is a lovely memorial, although a bit confusing as to how the states are arranged within each side. It's also a nice location and you have shots of both the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. I love the part with the rows of gold stars - it gives a strong sense of how many lives were lost. When the water feature is on, it is a great place to go, sit on the wide sloping steps, and soak up the history. The one hint I have for this one is to find Kilroy :)
