As far as museums go, this one's always a favorite for the entire family. Vast displays of everything natural...The National Museum does it best. If your time is limited in the D.C. area, make sure this one's at the top of your list. You will not be disappointed. Fascinating artifacts galore. Realistic displays everywhere you look. The dinosaurs are immense! You'll love it, your children will love it. Great gift shops to explore after your self-guided tour. This is the real deal!

With so many Museums in Washington DC, it is a tough decision as which to see & do...However, even if you only have a few hours, The Museum of Natural History is one of the most enjoyable & interesting, educational Museums in the United States. Free admission make this museum a true Gem. Explore at your own pace, from dinosaurs to gems and minerals, there is something for everyone. While we were there, the Hope Diamond was on display which was quite spectacular to see up close. This is a Very Good Museum where you can spend as little or as much time looking at the exhibits depending as to what you want to get out of it ! Overall rating ~ Very Good !

If you like learning about many different issues this is the place to go. My friend and I spent hours in the temporary exhibit on Race alone. So worth it. I want to go back to DC just for this and the gelato place a couple of blocks away. So great.

This museum is incredible on all fronts. We especially enjoyed Nature's best photography exhibit and we went on a Tuesday when the butterfly exhibit is free. You walk into a green house and are enveloped in beautiful flowers and hundreds of butterflies that fly around you, land on you and allow you to see them in their natural habitat up close and personal. By far, our favorite experience of the day!
