There are a collection of memorials that have ageless meaning and emotional impact. Seeing it at night is special.

My dad loved seeing the memorial and our tour guide did an excellent job explaining the thoughtfulness behind the building of it. It is well made and in a beautiful park just near the waterfront. Well worth a visit just for the scenery.

I downloaded a walking route of the memorials and can highly recommend it. It is a big day of walking but they are all very different and special in their own way.
The Vietnam Veterans memorial is a beautiful wall that lists every person who lost their life...very sobering experience.

It is amazing to see how many names are on the wall that gave their lives for our Country that we take for granted every day. You hear about the wall with names but when you actually visualize it and imagine, it is overwhelming. If nothing else from a Washington trip, always remember Freedom is not Free and there were so many that gave their lives and still do today.

this is a very emotional site, while not trying to make you break in tears, its modesty makes you remember that everyone was involved in this war and that we are still suffering consequences from this dark period of our history. lots of lives lost and damaged and our veterans need to be remembered and honored as they were sent not because they wanted it.
