A very humbling place. To see all the names on the wall puts into perspective the sacrifice all of the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice. Every American should see this.

You have to experience this monument in person to grasp the magnitude of the human toll of the Vietnam War. Simple in design, the gradually growing, expansive, engraved wall tells the history of human sacrifice. The flowers, flags and momentoes paying tribute to fallen heroes remind us that the loss is still felt and the fallen are not forgotten. Many visitors trace the names of loved ones who died in combat. A truly moving experience.

This is a unique memorial, very different from the others on the mall. This one shows the names of 53,500 men lost in the Vietnam War. If you approach it with silence and respect you'll feel the power of the memorial.

My first visit to this memorial in 28 years and still brings back memories of those days I served in Vietnam and thank God that my name is not listed there.

Found my relative's name: Ronald C. Davis. The Park Ranger helped us find the panel and line 50 and there his name appeared. The Ranger also gave us a strip of paper and a pencil to make an etching. Very moving experience.
