“A special visit on a cold day”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

It was getting colder as the sun started to set so we strolled by, prepared to keep moving for warmth. But then I saw the book in which you could locate names if you knew someone. I spent 5 minutes looking as the relevant page was torn from the book, but located out of order. I'm so glad I kept looking as I found the one man I knew personally, Alan Brudno. We went back to locate his name, and that's when the experience became so much deeper.

“Powerful”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

Recently, I made my 5th visit to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Still as powerful as ever as a tribute to those that paid the ultimate price and their families, as well as all era veterans.

It is a bit crowded during the summer, and you have to basically follow a line of people that walks from one end to the other so it isn't easy to reach to spot you desire if you are looking for a name. If you need to check the name location, there are two books (basically like 3 ring binders) at the beginning and ending of the memorial. You may want to bring a piece of paper with you and pen to write the locations down of the names if there is more than one you are looking for.

After the main memorial don't forget to stop by the two more traditional memorial tributes with statues replicating the typical servicemen and women of the war.

The Vietnam memorial wall is precious and special......
Walk its length and think of each person listed there as you do
Cry if you need to................
that's OK.

“Worth the visit”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Anyone that was alive in 1970 probably knows someone who's name is on that wall. It's just so sad and special. Like a grave yard without the graves. Worth the visit.
