“Do This Before You See the Wall”
Reviewed June 11, 2012

If your visit does NOT include a person providing info about the Memorial, read about the layout of the memorial BEFORE you go. There is no sign that explains how the names are arranged. You can pick up a brochure at the Info office, but it is hard to read the details while you are visiting the Wall. I found the explanation a little difficult to figure out. Anyhow, the names are arranged by date of death. The beginning is in the middle - not at an end. Names are preceded by a diamond or a cross. A diamond means the persons remains were found. A cross means the remains are missing. There are other symbols on the wall. Learn as much as you can before you go! Bring paper and pencil if you want to trace over a name. There is a step ladder nearby if a name is high on the Wall. There are also books to look up a name to see where it can be found.

“So moving!”
Reviewed June 10, 2012

My second trip, and it still evokes tears. I like the new Women's Memorial. Even in the rain, it was worth the trip.
