“Great attraction!”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

This was really fun and informative. My 14yr old even found it interesting. I loved the Petersen house across the street too. We learned a lot about Lincoln and loved seeing the suit he wore the night he was killed as well as the gun used in the assassination. Well worth the visit. Might not be good for very young children, lots of things to read and understand.

“Ford's Theatre & civil war exhibit”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

I've been to Ford's Theatre one other time before and, of course, it is a fascinating place to visit. During my most recent visit, several things had changed, all for the better. In the first place, visitors were allowed access to the top floor and to look at the Presidential booth. Before we were only led into the bottom portion of the theatre by a guide and it was not as easy to see the Presidential booth and all the details which facilitated the assasination.

Although there was not the guided tour this time, there was a very expansive exhibit on the bottom floor about Lincoln's career, his relationship to his cabinet and the civil war itself. This was wonderfully informative and helpful to those who are not completely knowledgeable about the history of the time. In addition there was detailed information about the assisination conspiracy. I would definitely suggest this a must when visiting the Nation's capital--even if you have been to Ford's Theatre before. Also, when visiting Ford's Theatre, a must is the Petersen house across the street. This is

One of the best stops on our recent tour of Washington D.C. Learned alot more about Lincoln, and was able to look inside the actual balcony where Lincoln was.

The tour was fantastic. If you are interested in history - please take the time to see this awesome theatre and tour. The tour guides were knowledgeable and we found it fascinating. The theater and house across the street tour was a must see.
