This is a wonderful space! We've been here before but this time we took the Thomas Jefferson Building Tour. Our docent was well informed and she made the building come alive. I can't wait for my next visit during which I will peel back another layer of this most remarkable onion.

We only spent a short time in the building and didn't take a tour but we did have a quick look at the reading room, which is one of the most beautiful rooms I've seen. On another visit I will take a longer look at the institution that claims to want to gather all knowledge in the world.

The Tour Guide was an elderly gentleman who was entertaining just being himself. He explained the intricacies and history of the building which was fascinating.

It was my first visit to the LoC and I loved it! Such a beautiful place, not huge, but a lot of beautiful art to see. The free tours were so informative and the staffs were so knowledgeable about all the artists/sculptors that did the art in the building. I spent a good 4hrs in there without even realising! Overwhelmed with information at the end of the visit. Go to the back of the second level to see the Jefferson library collection, some of the original books in his collection!

If you are in Washington DC even for a day, you should obviously visit this place. Take the audio tour to know the details of the history of the building, and the greatest n the world collection of books. If you like old books, you will have the chance to see the oldest version of bible, etc.
Pay attention to every monument and script, they have their own symbols, which makes you remember the tour for a long time.
