Owner description: Though the Library of Congress doesn't own every book ever published, it sure has most of them, with 532 miles of shelves and 115 million items, with 7,000 added each working day.

What a beautiful building! Loved walking thru the halls of this historic building. The artwork and decor of this buidling is awe inspring.

Art, our tour guide, was great. Full of interesting anecdotes and really helped us to get the most out of the building's history.

The temporary exhibition on the US Civil War was very interesting, especially seeing the original Emancipation Proclamation and reading 'Four scores and seven years ago' (the Gettysburg Address) in Lincoln's own hand - AMAZING!

Be sure you have several hours to visit the library. I was not able to see everything. The library is overwhelming. It is a must see when you visit DC.

Did not do the tour just checked out the building on our own, awesome structure and detail. Interesting exhibits. We came by way of the Capitol.

If you can walk a little (a lot) of the beaten path it is worth it. The architect and paintings must be seen at least once in a lifetime. Several flights of steps, a little gift shop. I was about to thirst to death, but they don't sell bottled anything. Always carry water in DC!
