“Cherry Blossom time”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

Best time to go during the Cherry Blossom season is at dawn, because you can't move when the tour buses arrive. The pay off is a gorgeous view.

“Gorgeous at Night and By Day”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

Had the fortune to visit both during the day and the night and it was brilliant. If you can get a night tour to the memorials I would definitely take that option as it is much quieter during the night time and the lighting makes it very stunning

“Tip: As a driver or firend to wait in the car for you”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

This is one of my favorites site in DC (and I am local). The construction work on the building has been completed and its an joy to have the whole space open to the public. But it's not all good... Since monuments are considered potential targets for terrorists, there was a lot of discussion regarding vehicular access and proximity. Parking for the Jefferson Memorial used to be convenient but cyclone fencing prevents even official cars from entering, and the public must park 1,000 feet away. So if you have a local host and don't have tour bus mobility, ask them to drop you off and wait the 15 minutes it takes. Use the smart phone to coordinate pick-ups. You'd be able to see at least 7 monuments in less than 2 hours this way. We did this over the Thanksgiving weekend 2012.

“Always calming and reflective.”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

This is a nice memorial and on a nice day a great place to just sit on the step and look across the Tidal Basin and relax.
