Description: James Hoban's proudly offers guests a modern day taste of Ireland. We have endeavored to bring to Washington a flavor of today's Ireland, with a look that presents our most cherished traditional aspects yet also displays modern Ireland's strong European culinary influences. But while Great Irish cuisine comes naturally at James Hoban's, a very memorable dining experience is about more than the food. It's when the warm host, witty bartender, and savvy waiter treat you like family. It's the live music, the strong drinks, and the great company, all in our nation's capital. Stop by for a pint or a plate and experience what has been called a "neighborhood gem" and "warmth in the heart of Dupont."

Yeh not a bad place but nothing to write home about either. Typical priced place with ok food and reasonable drinks selection. Service was fine but why do they insist on taking away one plate when someone has finished instead of waiting for both people to finish? Drinks pricey even compared by UK high tax standards but this is now standard for the USA it seems. Peroni was $6 plus tip etc. Fish n chips was $15 plus tax and tip. Worth a visit but don't expect too much.

Not really an Irish pub at all. The service was slow and rather unfriendly. The atmosphere was more bad club than pub. The food was pretty standard, nothing I wouldn't be able to easily do better at home. Went on a Saturday night around 10pm and the place only had about 8 people there, enough said.

Good location on DuPont Circle. Recommend the full Irish breakfast, the Omelet and the salads. Great service. Indoor and outdoor seating. Sunday brunch can be loud what with Gaelic Football on several TVs around the bar. Recommend the Stoli Bloody Mary as well. Will go back.

Crab dip was wonderful as was the Cobb salad. Good service, very nice vibe eating outside, and close to areas in DuPont circle.

We were just walking around the city and popped in here for a drink after a long day. It's not a true Irish bar but the male bartenders were pretty friendly, attentive and very pleasant...except the blonde who ignored us the entire time... We had a couple drinks and it's typical DC prices...good drinks and good service. However, even though we were there during Happy Hour we paid regular price for our drinks...bummer.
