“Nice breakfast, nice scenery”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

Had breakfast on patio one breezy September morning. A great people watching spot with friendly service and lots of food. A giant basket of french pastries is brought over and it was fantastic. Not the usual old fruit pastries and rolls. Two giant chocolate croissants, two plain croissants and a couple of raisin cinnamon rolls. Since it was only two of us, we were stunned. Easily could have done fine having one of these each. Just so rich, delicious and not overly greasy. One with a cup of coffee would have been fine. My fellow diner ordered the breakfast sandwich that came open faced and enormous with eggs, cheese, meat on a giant bagel with fruit and yummy breakfast potatoes. I had the berry crepes since its something I normally wouldn't make at home. While it was a lovely plate, the berry sauce and cooked berries on the inside was just too much. Now don't get me wrong, love berries, but this was so sour that it was just overwhelming when you have cooked berries inside, berry sauce poured over it and fresh berries on sides. However, service was so darn good and it was just such a nice open and airy spot. Loved the fact that tables weren't all pushed together so one could breathe and have privacy. for breakfast was a lot of fun and easy. P.S. Can't comment on price since we paid ahead of time a a deep discount.

“Very good solid and an original creative menu”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

I throughly enjoyed my dinner at ICI. One of their nice features is their De-Light menu, which has a few low-cal appetizers, mains, and desserts. The dining room is very nicely decorated and is located within the Sofitel Hotel. The Sofitel is in a fabulous area of D.C. The menu is very creative and fresh, with lots of organic and fresh veggies/fruit. The food is well-prepared and nicely plated. The service is solid. If you are looking for a place to entertain a client or a romantic getaway, ICI is a great choice.

We ate breakfast here and although very expensive it was delicious. We had bacon and eggs and a basket of pastries.

This is our favorite restaurant, and we are foodies. We eat out very often. Trying places suggested on Open Table and Trip Advisor, we always decide that ICI is our favorite place to dine. GREAT FOOD and GREAT SERVICE and GREAT VIEWS. Also can eat or have drinks outside or can stay at their beautiful indoor or outdoor bar. Located near White House in DC.

“Good romantic evening”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

We wanted to go out for a well-prepared, relatively light dinner. Ici was a good choice. It is in he Sofitel Hotel, a beautiful and elegant property. The setting was perfect; just the right amount of a crowd and noise, and the setting is lovely. The service was impeccable. One of the appeals of Ici is their "De-light" menu, lighter fare with calories listed. One of us had the goat cheese salad, which was wonderful, and the Szechuan duck breast, which was slightly disappointing. It did not have as much spice as I had hoped, and the thick pieces were somewhat chew ire than I was expecting. Very nice selection of wine by the glass--one of us had a lovely Louis Jadot Pouilly Fuisse.

All told, it was about $100 for the two of us, which is not outrageous for DC. The meal was memorable mainly because of the romantic setting and impeccable service. As a food experience, it was good but we have had better. We would happily return.
