I cant get over how awesome this place is. Its amazing for all ages but imagine if you have teenagers this would be the place to be! VERY cool exibits -- be prepared to spend over 4 hours here as you will be in awe of everything the museum has to offer. The food court was pretty good as well.

This was the 2nd visit for myself and son but our friend's 1st time. Cannot stress enough how emotional one can get at this museum. There is a JFK and Camelot display until next winter. The display about his assisnation is excellent but also moving. Also emotional is the 9/11 display and video, plus the Pulitzer Price photos. Also a Civil Rights display which was excellent. On the lighter side is a short video montage of satire, with clips of Conan, the Daily Show etc. The views from the 6th floor balcony are great; with views of the Capital Building and some Smithsonians. Even though this is a for-fee museum, it is worth every penny. Would not miss it. However, not for young children. Most important!

Most museums in Dc are free, and usually the ones you have to pay for are very gimmicky, but the Newseum is actually a fun place to visit, no matter how old you are. The giant room with newspapers through the ages is my favorite!

Clearly this proprietary museum focuses on displays that will bring in traffic (and have you pay to enter). The JFK exhibit dominates the six floors and has many interesting exhibits about the news coverage, up to and including the assassination and funeral. However, it's a bit light in historical significance. The Civil Rights exhibit is interesting but small in comparison. A few fun things on the lower floors that are especially attractive to children (tape your own news segment). Overall, it's interesting but not as detailed or deep as many of the Smithsonian Museums. Focusing on what's popular leaves little room for depth.

A large building which is used for social events, it seems that the layout of the actual exhibits is not logical, spead out and tedious. It took the better part of a day, but had it been logically laid out it might only take half a day. Location of elevators and stairs was confusing. The content was good, but probably better if you are a journalist. Best part was the Berlin Wall exhibit and the 9/11 exhibit.
