Owner description: Find out for yourself why everyone is calling the Newseum the best experience Washington, D.C. has to offer. Each of the seven levels in this magnificent building is packed with interactive exhibits that explore free expression and the five freedoms of the First Amendment: religion, speech, press, assembly and petition. Whether you have just a few hours or want to spend all day, you'll find something for everyone in the family in the Newseum's 15 theaters and 15 galleries.

The Newseum is packed with great information, exhibits, and well worth the price of admission. The layout of the place is smart, you seldom feel crowded, and there are some nice views of Pennsylvania Ave from top floors as an added bonus. Definitely worth the trip if you are in DC really unlike any museum I've been to previously. Caution, you could easily spend an entire day or two here if you had the time.

My favorite museum. While I love politics and history, the Newseum brings both together like none other. Plan to spend at LEAST three hours here because there is so much to read about! Multiple stories, interesting exhibits, lots of interactive places (we loved "reporting" the news!) and well worth the price. Will definitely bring friends back here!

Interesting fairly recent museum in DC. All about coverage of news / journalism. Exhibits include newspapers dating back to the 1500s of major events [bring your reading glasses], historical exhibits and videos in general and specific coverage / exhibits dedicated to the Kennedy assignation, 911, etc. Plan at least 2 hours.

I read the reviews after seeing the building while walking in the Mall. I am very glad I did. This is an excellent place to see how news has been reported over time and the changing technology. There is so much to see I used the second day as well to come back and have more time with the exhibits.

New technology means everyone can publish to the world, like in this review. What the Newseum shows is the history across time and countries of reporting and gives access to see and use some of the latest technology to try it yourself.

You see examples of the best written and visual material and special exhibits. Everyone needs to know about the news and be aware that many editorial decisions are made about what is published and how it is presented. I thought an excellent example of this was outside the entrance where the front pages are shown. So many different stories are run showing the different priorities or perspectives of the different papers.

I really enjoyed the visits and the gift shops were not just full of tacky toys, there are some resources for budding writers and historians.

Highly recommended.

highlight for me was the Berlin Wall exhibit, but there was also a fun FBI exhbit and JFK photos that were worth the visit. My middle-school aged children really enjoyed the experience as well!
