Owner description: Find out for yourself why everyone is calling the Newseum the best experience Washington, D.C. has to offer. Each of the seven levels in this magnificent building is packed with interactive exhibits that explore free expression and the five freedoms of the First Amendment: religion, speech, press, assembly and petition. Whether you have just a few hours or want to spend all day, you'll find something for everyone in the family in the Newseum's 15 theaters and 15 galleries.

Lots of great information about history as captured by the press. Good interactive exhibits. We were there for 3 hours and could have stayed longer.

Washington DC offers so much to visitors with the no-fee national museum/Smithsonian complex that one is prone to avoid "fee-paying" museums and that really does short-change the inquiring mind. The Newseum is a "don't miss!" I found a good deal on discounted tickets to the Newseum (it's pacckaged with sightseeing tours too) at www.trustedtours.com ahead of our visit. Note that the ticket is good for TWO days, not one, so it's possible to split one ticket between two people if interest is only for visiting on one day. The contents are so extraordinary, inspiring memories of great events in national and world history, that two days would not do it justice however. Imagine the changing of contemporary international and antional newspapers' front pages every day. Follow the memorial to journalists whose lives were taken in the pursuit of truth and reporting of events as they occur.

No matter the price, (yes it's a little high for a city filled with free museums) this museum is amazing. It is like no other and the terrace has a beautiful view of Pennsylvania Avenue looking at the Capitol on one end.

Enormous museum, many photos and a lot of documentation, plenty of interractivity, great for kids. Takes a whole day to go around, but you need to take your time, there is so much to see. One of the few paying museum in DC but it's well worth it.

This museum is a MUST see for everyone! Its comprehensive collection of news worthy items is unbelievable! From the Pulitzer Prize Photos (along with the Photog's commentary on their picture) to the First Amendment display, there is not an inch of this place that isn't emotionally moving or extremely informational. We spent 5 hours in the Newseum and that still wasn't enough time!
Make time for the Newseum when visiting DC, you won't regret it!
