“A DC Must See”
Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

Moving, evocative and stunning. I can count in one hand the number of times I've visited a museum and cried in public while looking at exhibits. I did it twice at the Newseum. The 9/11 display is heart-wrenching. It took me back to that day in 2011. The memorial for fallen reporters was stunningly moving. In a country where we take for granted freedom of speech, it was stunning to see a glass wall, extended from the floor to the ceiling, covered with names of journalists around the globe who died whole covering the news and telling the truth. I highly recommend stopping by to see this museum. Unique and celebrates something truly "American".

“Not as impressive as I expected”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

Great location, but I was somehow expecting more of a "wow!" factor. I was not as impressed as I was expecting to be. So many people raved about the Newseum. I will probably not go there again. It was not disappointing, but having already been there once, I say "Been there, done that."

“The BEST!”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

This is the best museum in DC in my opinion. I love this place. Unfortunately, it's not part of the Smithsonian so you have to pay but it's worth it. It's fun and informative and very interesting. I can spend a whole day there. The cafeteria is also a grade above most museum cafeterias. My only complaint is sometimes it's really cold in there. Bring a sweater!

“Well Presented, but not Unique”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

The Newseum is a beautiful modern building with well executed presentations, but offers very little more than 2 dimentional pictures and movies available on the internet and PBS television. Not worth the trip, time, or costs to visit.

“Berlin Wall!”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

Fancy finding a section of the Berlin wall (and watch tower) in DC! The other exhibits were very good also and its real eye-opener to see how few countries have free speech.
