“Fun for all ages, an interactive walk down memory lane”

it's a big museum, but totally doable in a few hours. Very interactive - the exhibits and information is great. Visit the great moments of our past through the news that brought it to us. The Pulitzer Prize photo section will both warm your heart and bring you to tears. Plus - great view of the capitol from their 4th story balcony. Highly recommend this attraction.

“Facinating museum”
Reviewed June 23, 2012

Great for media, news and history buffs. Interesting to see how news is gathered and distributed throughout history and how important freedom of the press is. Some exhibits which focused on major news events like the fall of the Berlin Wall and the attacks on 9/11. A lot of the exhibits are interactive. It does cost you to go in although you can get either 10% off if you buy tickets online OR if you look in your hotel lobby you can probably get a pamphlet that will take 25% off an adult ticket. You'll have to see which way saves you more money. The good thing is that the tickets are good for 2 days and there's certainly enough to fill 2 days. Highly reccommended and I'd certainly go back.

“The BEST”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

The Newseum is the best attraction in Washington DC. Even though it costs a few bucks, I would not miss it. The tickets are good for 2 days and you could definitely use both days at this excellent museum. Great interaction, great exhibits, lots of information. Our 14 year old wanted to spend more time there than at any other site id DC. He read everything. He was enthralled. We need this museum in Los Angeles. We will definitely use the Neseum website in our classrooms this year. Amazing. Do not miss this place.

“Great Museum away from the riff-raff”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

The Newseum was really cool. Lots of Pulitzer Prize winning photography. Not crowded. The price keeps the riff-raff crowding and sweating elsewhere. The 911 exhibit was breath taking. Look out for the San Francisco Chronicle on September 12th. Hits the mood perfectly. There is also a lot of good information on the bombings in Oklahoma and Unabomber information. Also, a great view of the Capitol is available on the 6th floor. My wife thought this was going to be boring. She loved it.

“Museum for News Junkies”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

While the museum touts Freedom of the Press, the Newseum, in contrast to the surrounding Smithsonian Museums, is far from free. Adult admission is $24 and a family of four get a package admission of $50. Great interact museum, including the Interactive News Studio, where you can broadcast news weather or sports using green screen technology. Several movie theaters, including 3D and 4D, are constantly running movies. If you are a news junkie you will love the Newseum, it has everything you can imagine about the the history of print and broadcast news. For older visitors it is a walk down memory lane, revisiting major events throughout your life. Their are special exhibits on Pulitzer Prize winning photographs, Sports Photography of Neil Leifer, the FBI, 9/11 and the Berlin Wall. Tim Russert's office and the set for ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos are on display. The exterior balcony offers great view of the US Capitol, The Mall and Pennsylvania Avenue.
