Awesome experience. Not cheap (considering Smithsonians are largely free) but worth it.

“Worth the cost”

Fascinating information on events in history. Particularly striking exhibit on the events of 9/11 and the news people who covered the story. You can make a video of yourself as a newscaster or watch a live broadcast. We had taken the Segway tour so had coupons for 30% off so it was a particularly good deal but I would have paid full price.

“Plan a whole afternoon!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2012

I love the Newseum. Have been there in the past and recently went to see it again. Five hours later, I was still there! Seeing parts of the real Berlin Wall, Trade Towers, events from the news, etc. make this an amazing place. Kids might be bored so leave them at the hotel. Oh, the restaurant (Puck) is excellent!

“Interesting museum!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2012

I really enjoyed this museum. The Pulitzer Prize photo gallery was a highlight of my visit. The 9/11 area was very informative and really depicted the far reaching news of the attacks. Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to explore this museum...I only had two hours and did not even come close to seeing the whole museum.

“Exceeded all expectations”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2012

If you think this is a museum dedicated to only the news, think again. The Newseum was well beyond our expectations with some fascinating and moving exhibits which included artifacts from the 9/11 tragedy (and an extremely moving short film), the Berlin Wall and a Stasi watchtower (again, very moving), an FBI exhibit, a look at the US presidential elections and so, so much more. You could easily spend a day here and your ticket is good for two days, so there is no need to rush. This was a highlight of our short time in DC. Fabulous and well worth the entry fee.
