Great way to spend a summer afternoon. The hike is easy to moderate. The falls are stunning. The hike starts at the top and you make your way to the pool of the falls. Once you're down there...it is breathtaking! It looks like a movie set! When it's warm enough you can swim, so bring some towels, pack a lunch and make a day of it!

This is a beautiful park! Wonderful hiking trails and waterfall. There are picnic areas, bathrooms, caming areas and gorgeous scenery. Take snacks and spend the day here! If you enjoy nature and beautiful walks, then this is a place for you! During the week is isnt as busy as the weekends. Some people bring their dogs. I just brought my camera. :)

Access to the first overlook is a very easy walk. Going down to the base of the falls is steep but rock steps are provided in the steepest parts. The creek below the falls is beautiful and enjoyable to walk. We took the rugged trail along the base of the bluffs and made a loop using the second climbers access then walked back on the Fiery Gizzard trail on the other side of the falls. The overlook from Fiery Gizzard is the best overlook view of the falls just a little tougher to get to than the closest overlook.

This was a pleasant surprise we just happened to spot on the map. There is no charge and after a half mile hike ( steep at points ) you are at the beautiful falls. Be sure to bring a bathing suit because the water at the base of the falls is perfect for swimming but I would recommend wearing water shoes or sandals since the rocks are a bit rough on the feet. Definitely not a tourist trap!

The falls can be viewed from the deck across the top of the gorge, its a great pic but walking down the steep trail and over the swinging bridge to the base is amazing Its another Tennessee plunge fall that makes a wonderful picture..

Enjoy it but always be careful along some of the steeper places on the base trail..
