“High recommend camping here”

We've camped at East Harbor State Park three years in a row now and highly recommend this park and campground. We've stayed in their camper cabins twice and this year one of the rental rv's (which we heard may be discontinued next year?). Campground bathroom and shower houses are some of the cleanest we've seen in all the state parks. Campers seem pretty mellow and courteous, lots of families. Camping sites in Area C are on the smaller side and have very little shade (many, many trees cut down recently due to the emerald ash borer). Area B has more shade and sites are larger. Campground is large, great to ride bikes around. There is a bike trail from the campground to the beach and lakeshore. Beach is large and has a nice bathroom facility with outdoor showers to rinse the sand off. There was a large, inflatable slide on the beach for the kids - $10 got you an all day pass - the kids spent hours going up and down it. Tons of mosquitos, maybe due to the unusually heavy rains earlier this summer...be sure to bring bug spray, we needed it desperately.

East Harbor State Park is a great place to stop for the day but the campground is terrible. The campsites are so close together that you feel like you're camping in a parking lot. If you're looking for any privacy, don't camp here. People walk right through your site and we even had someone dump garbage in ours! While here, it rained like crazy and our (tiny) campsite became so swamped that it was impossible to have a fire. The bathrooms were dirty and the showers were disgusting. The only good part about this state park is the beach. Other than that, save your money and go elsewhere.

We stayed here while visiting Kelly's Island and South Bass Island. Location was perfect! We stayed in A102 which was very muddy with all the recent rains. Showers were clean and had plenty of hot water.

There wasn't much traffic and I felt comfortable letting my kids ride their bikes around the park. Firewood was 4.50 a bundle in the camp store, everything else was reasonably priced.

The beach area with comfortable sand is perfect for kids because the water level stays probably 3 to 4 feet for 100 yards or so.This park is clean and has clean and large modern restroom area.Take the picnic basket and enjoy and good summer afternoon with your family and friends

This campground has the perfect location on the shores of Lake Erie. You are close to all the area attractions and the campground has many things they offer too.

They have a beach with nice facilities to clean off the sand. Bond fires, movies and nature activities are available.

The sites we had were a bit on the small side and everyone was crammed in pretty tight. The bath house facilities were pretty nice, but the water was generally cold. The small bathroom facilities that were closer by were not quite as nice and could have used a little updating.

There are great areas for bike riding and playgrounds for the children too.
