We've camped at East Harbor State Park three years in a row now and highly recommend this park and campground. We've stayed in their camper cabins twice and this year one of the rental rv's (which we heard may be discontinued next year?). Campground bathroom and shower houses are some of the cleanest we've seen in all the state parks. Campers seem pretty mellow and courteous, lots of families. Camping sites in Area C are on the smaller side and have very little shade (many, many trees cut down recently due to the emerald ash borer). Area B has more shade and sites are larger. Campground is large, great to ride bikes around. There is a bike trail from the campground to the beach and lakeshore. Beach is large and has a nice bathroom facility with outdoor showers to rinse the sand off. There was a large, inflatable slide on the beach for the kids - $10 got you an all day pass - the kids spent hours going up and down it. Tons of mosquitos, maybe due to the unusually heavy rains earlier this summer...be sure to bring bug spray, we needed it desperately.
