Last second decision to visit, but one of the best decisions ever made. We drove the scenic drive, and the scenery is out of site. Great facilities. Would go back, and next time rent a boat for the lake.

We rented a boat to see the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead while in Vegas with our kids. It was a nice day on the water and a needed diversion from Vegas if you are there with kids. If you are not there with your kids, better to use your afternoon as nap time for the night ahead. We got close to the Hoover Dam and my son commented "its just a big cement wall", which is how it looks from the water (I know better views are available). There are some canyons that are cool to boat through. A good day, just nothing extraordinary.

We rented 2 jet skis for 2 hours on Lake Mead from Las Vegas Boat Harbor. The employees were all nice and efficient. We did not experience any rip offs with gasoline. Although it is very expensive, this is typical at other marinas we have visited in the west.

We had a great time jet skiing! Lake Mead not quite as scenic as Lake Powell, but the water is beautiful! We did enjoy visiting the Narrows area, and had we known how much prettier it was, we would have spent more time here. It is quite a ride from LVBH, though. It took us about 45 mins to get back going really fast the whole way. Next time I would rent from Calville Bay, which is located closer to the Narrows, to avoid this long trek.

Afterwards, we picnicked at Boulder Beach. It was very rocky and not too clean. We swam a bit (it was a very hot day), but after the beautiful spot we swam in at the Narrows, this was not too enjoyable, and I do not recommend it.

Overall, we enjoyed our day. Jet skiing was alot of fun! Probably my kids favorite activity of the whole 2 week trip. It was expensive (about $350 for 2 skis for 2 hours), but worth it! So - 5 stars for jet skiing, and 4 overall for Lake Mead.

We just took a scenic drive thru on the way to Valley of Fire Park and the Hoover Dam. At first I was upset that the GPS had decided to take us this way. It cost $ 10 to enter the park. But my disapointment was over very quickly when we decided to stop at Red Rock. It has bathrooms and a 30 min hiking trail that takes you around the towering red rock cliffs in the area. The rocks have little "apartments" in them where you can look for wildlife like horned lizards and pack rats. It is beautiful and easy hike. There are also many scenic photo areas where you can stop to take pictures along the way. Also your park entry pass is good for almost a week so be sure you hang on to it if you want to visit the area again.

We had a great time renting a speed boat on Lake Meade. Wonderful fun for the family and or friends to hang out and enjoy the amazing scenery. We rented from Las Vegas boat harbor. They were friendly and knowlegdable. Try to get there early because it is first come first serve.
