Excellent location, rooms and food. The only slight drawback was the lack of an outside space to relax and chill.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour around Havana also staying at the Iberostar Varadero, Parque Central Havana and Las Terrazas. I'd put this third out of four in terms of rating.
The hotel is an oasis within the fascinating town of Trinidad and is generally very good.
Nice clean room with a well-equipped bathroom. Maid service was very good with the almost compulsory towel sculptures. We were unfortunate to have a room without a terrace or balcony and this knocked a star off the rating as we had nowhere to sit out and enjoy our drinks. The hotel also did not have a pool which also lost it a star as we really missed the opportunity to cool down in the afternoon.
The service needs to be fine-tuned, if you have a drink with your meal you are expected to pay before leaving the dining room. One evening we were chased down a corridor by a waiter for payment and had to point out to him we hadn't had anything.
We had one five course fully serviced evening meal as part of our package and the food was a good as anything we had in Cuba. Buffet breakfast choice was not such a high standard but was still very good.
Overall a pleasant stay in a fascinating town.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the front with a terrace

Fantastic location on the edge of Trinidad. Welcomed with a cocktail at the check-in process, very efficient and staff going to great lengths to ensure your stay is going to be the best possible.

Rooms are bright, beds are huge and all is clean. Bathroom reasonably spacious and very clean. Maid service is great, escpecially when leaving tips each morning (2 or 3 CUCs max). Room service is quick and staff very friendly.

Buffet breakfast is fantastic with the range of food available, service is excellent too. Evening dinner is also buffet style though some food is cooked freshly for you by the chefs. Quality is superb and ambiance is very good. Staff and service excellent.

Check-out and reception staff excellent, even forwarded my shoes (which I inadvertently left in my room) to my hotel in Havana at no charge.

Only drawback (not with the hotel itself, obviously) is Trinidad is quite small and does not warrant more than two nights' stay.

Room Tip: Ask for room at front of hotel, possibly junior suite with balcony if available.

This was definitely the best of the 4 hotels Cuban we stayed in. 5 star quality throughout, and the restaurant was good by UK standards. Only a short walk from the refurbished old town, so location is good as well.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the main square, still quiet.
