"La Casona" is a place that surprised me gratefully! I will not get into much details as the other reviews talk by themselves. From La Casona you can access the mountains with its amazing cascades or walk "a pie" to downtown Trinidad, a few minutes on foot. The bars and restaurants around are diverse, I personally recommend "La Botija" for your meals and "Yesterday" for one of your rock nights. They feature live local rock bands. Save some hunger for the delicious meals that Kenia and her crew prepare at La Casona.
Prices in La Casona vary depending on the number of people in you group and the composition of the rooms. Their price for a double including breakfast will increase in March to $80.00 as the 25 mts swimming pool will become fully operational. The view from the swimming pool is breathtaking as it oversees the mountains!
To reach the beach you can rent a local driver for $8.00 one way. We took a day charter from "Puerto Casilda" with Juan, a Spanish guy that owns a sailing boat and does trips to Cayo Macho, awesome experience! I have some films and pictures that I'll be posting next week. Please keep checking. The price per person on this boat is $80.00 and includes the round trip to Cayo Macho plus lunch and a drink.
If you are a scubadiver or would like to become one, ask me and will give you more details. Trinidad is one or the best spots for scubadiving in the southcenter of Cuba.
Trinidad has became my favorite spot in the Caribbean. I will come back as soon as I can!
I wish you all a good stay and good memories to share!
