Stayed here for 2 nights as a base during a two week tour of Cuba. An all-inclusive hotel, which we understand is still state owned and run. This was the second all-inclusive we stayed whilst in Cuba and the difference was striking. We found the hotel, tired, dingy and the staff not that friendly. Pool area very quiet, but nice beach. Many of our tour party complained about their rooms, but couldn’t get them changed. If you like all-inclusive, there’s drinks and food all day from breakfast until late, so called entertainment available. The location is also far away from Trinidad, need taxi to get there and back. If you like AI, sun and basic facilities, then you would be OK here, but it’s not my cup of tea.

We been there with my wife and a friend. We booked the hotel without knowing we got the all inclusive package. That was a nice surprise, but also a must in Cuba. The beach was perfect. We used the place as a base for our day trips to Cayo Coco, Santa Clara...
The food was not perfect, but OK all things considered. I would go back there.

One can tell that this was once a beautiful hotel. It is tired but if you don't spend much time in your room it has a beautiful beach, lovely landscaping, and a good selection of wholesome food that is fairly repetitive. Don't expect smoked salmon, but fresh fish is a basic staple. Week one was a little uninspired and week two was so much better. This hotel seems to cater to retirees and visiting groups who are touring Cuba; many who only spend the night or a day or two before they move on. Many of the visitors come year after year and form a sort of community. Repeat customers voiced their opinion that the hotel used to be so much better in the past. One never has to worry about getting a towel, beach chair or line up for too long to get food. Two bars (no swim-up) and a Rum bar in the evening fill the need for drinks. Alas...the one pool is about knee deep and is used for volleyball and children. The people working at the hotel are the stars of the place. Always a friendly word, sharing stories about their families and wishing us a great time in their home of Trinidad/Ancon. There is little or no peddling on the beach. One feels safe in this location and the distances between buildings, restaurants and the beach are very "walkable". On a lesser note, the rooms really need a major expenditure. No dresser in the room means clothes were in the suitcase for two weeks. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were clean, but oh, so, ugly. A new shower curtain found its way in week two. The original one had lots of mold on it. There are no safety bars in the shower, only gaping holes where there once was a bar, soap dish etc. The tub is white with several shades of grey. The ceiling is moldy and the air conditioning duct has so much black stuff on it that I prayed we did not get sick. The staff cleans and changes towels every day. There is bottled water and a safe. Plumbing worked, hot water was available (more so than cold) for showers and new lawn chairs on the balcony. Bring bug spray....mosquitos are awful, bites are slow to heal and itch terribly. We all looked like we suffered from poison ivy. Entertainment is okay but seriously repetitive. The house band is amazing. The magician is horrible. The travelling act brought in for the second week was amazing. Your MC was so much fun. It is too bad he left to go work elsewhere. The new lady is really annoying and does not seem to cater to the audience. To the management of this hotel: it is not acceptable to have flies in the dining room. A few flies are normal, but there were flies all the time...on the food, bread, floating in drink glasses (for which you apologized profusely)...fly tape is an awesome invention. Despite its faults, we had a marvellous time and will remember the Brisas fondly.

Room Tip: 800's and 900's first floor (not ground floor) are away from main pool area and are quieter.

At first sight, the hotel looks nice but the rooms are old and dirty. Our room was on the ground floor, it had old and broken furniture, the fridge was out of order and we found big cockroaches in the bathroom. The buffet restaurant was a real disaster! Very crowded, dirty, full of flies and the food was awful.Even bread was old and tasteless! The staff were very slow and indifferent because the hotel belongs to the state. The only reason I gave 2 stars to this hotel is the nice beach and the clear sea just in front of the hotel.

Room Tip: avoid the ground floor
