“Hot, sweaty dancing in an amazing underground cave!”

A 10-minute uphill walk on stony, uneven ground and a half-hour wait to gain entry (for 3 CUC which includes a free drink) is worth it if you want a less traditional, more Ibiza-esque night out - live DJs playing a mix of UK/US/salsa dance tracks. If you're planning on wearing heels, bring a pair of flats to get there and back.

In a guide book we read about this disco within a cave and since our casa wasn´t too far away we gave it a try.
At the driveway of the Hotel La Cueva we asked how to get there and followed the instructions until there was a construction site where we were told to walk around it. It was dark and narrow and we weren´t quite sure if this wasn´t some kind of trap :-D
The entrance to the cave disco cost 3 CUC (Thursday). The prices for the drinks were (compared to German clubs) very low.
They played all kinds of music (reggaeton, salsa, house,...) and the dancefloor was full by 11pm.
We had a great, memorable evening!

The best night out we had in Cuba - a truly unique experience clubbing in a cave! Cheap entry, cheap drinks, great Cuban 'reggeton' music, and YOU'RE IN A CAVE!!! Don't leave Trinidad or Cuba for that matter without visiting.

A very unique experience, "the cave" as we referred to it has a great atmosphere, cheap entry (3CUC) and cheap drinks (3CUC per cocktail). There is a bar, a dancefloor, a platform and the dj booth is about 5-10 metres up the side of the cave. on peak nights there are performers earlier on in the evening. The music is pretty typical but perfect when you have got more than a few mojitos down you. For the perfect evening go to the Casa de musica until about midnight then follow people up the hill to the left of the church to carry on until 3AM... don't book an early bus the next morning!

The most surprising place I went to on my recent trip to Cuba! Well worth the walk up the hill to find the cave, music and dancing galore. The show at the start of the night was very entertaining but once the music started the night really took off. Cheap drinks and great music, you can't help but enjoy yourself. A surreal experience that everyone should check out!
