If you love the Cuban colonial houses, this is a must. It is not such a big place but you will be told how the buildings are built, which materials they used and you get to see the lovely house (or in fact two houses put together) which hosts the museum. All the furniture and china and art is very nice and there are some lovely surprises like the shower. I could have bought it for my home :) The staff was very helpful and well informed and for someone like me who loves architecture this was the real treat. They were very patient with my not-so-great-Spanish and answered all of my questions. Don't expect this to be an ordinary museum, it is more an excample of a typical wealthy Trinidad house. If you love them like I do, you'll like this place. For authenticity they even had the piece of wood with holes (stocks?) in the courtyard for chaining the slaves which ofcourse was a very sad sight but also part of the past life of the house.
