Owner description: Peacock Sky Vineyard is located in the centre of Waiheke Island with views across the Hauraki Gulf to Auckland. The tasting room and restaurant are in a secluded setting surrounded by lush native bush, and the owners share their verdant home with a flock of wild peacocks from which the vineyard takes its name. Join us in The Tasting Room to sample our fine wines, each accompanied by a complimentary food pairing. Stay for a gourmet lunch platter and sit inside among our eclectic selection of antiques and artwork, relax outside at our picnic tables overlooking the vineyard, or enjoy the comfort of our new atrium dining area. Enjoy our delightful nature trail that runs through peaceful native bush between the vineyard and our main facilities. Stroll along the trail and cross the small wooden bridge over one of the streams feeding the Cascades Waterfalls. Call for information regarding hosting your wedding in the vineyard or perhaps holding a business meeting or corporate retreat.

Delish find. Divine food. All meals bearing doggy names. Beautiful Rose. A tricky, quaint, delicious experience. (And a fav by the locals - which speaks volumes we think!)
We WILL return.

This is a special place and Connie the owner is amazing. We really enjoyed the wine tasting with food accompaniments, Connie talked about each wine and which food was the best marriage, it was an informative and fun session. We then had lunch which was great, the food was lovely, the chutneys, salad dressings and breads are made on site and are delicious. Connie and her husband have worked extremely hard to make this place so good, they deserve every success.

Extremely beautiful location, friendly staff but average wine.
I did not like the complimentary food samples came with wine either.
The dining room does look dull and depressing so I would not go back there for a meal.

To get to Peacock Sky is not a five minute ordeal. You wind up a curvy country road speckled with light filtering in through the shading leaves above. When you finally get to the top, the view is reward enough! Great setting and ambiance.
We had a fantasitic server, Lucy, help us through our decisions. She was delightfully animated and refreshing in her explanation of our wines and very helpful when deciding on our dining choices. It was a nice change from a previous wine tasting at a different vineyard where our presenter was stuffy and dry with his explanations. She brought the fun back into it.

As for the food and kitchen, we loved the openness of it. You can see exactly what is going on as they create your dish. We dined on a mix of the fishcake sliders with ginger and coriander and the fig and venison sliders. Also a bourbon braised lamb shank special over a delicious pasta. The cook who prepared our meal even came over to talk to us passionately about the Lamb special. You could tell he really loved what he did. I believe his name was Dan.

Overall a fantastic experience. As we did arrive a bit late in the day we felt bad when we realized it was nearing closing time and started to rush. The staff assured us that we were of no trouble and to just relax and enjoy.

Five stars!
