This was a really fantastic accommodation choice we stayed in a studio apartment which was so beautiful and had a little balcony that looked out over the trees and a little bit of the ocean. The room itself was perfect size - spacious with kitchen space to self cater, tv, air con, really nice bathroom and ironing board etc.

Unfortunately we weren't able to spend much time there because we were on Waiheke for a wedding and had to go back to Auckland the next day! It would be such a lovely getaway, for a couple.

The location was maybe a 10 minute walk to Palm Beach which is stunning! At the bottom is a convenience store and a yummy fish and chip shop. It is a bit of a walk back up the hill.

If you need to catch the local bus, there is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill, we caught it to the ferry terminal.

A word of caution if you are using taxi's - it may be cheaper to rent a car as taxi's on the island are really expensive! We were charged $40 for a 10 minute drive!

There is quite a steep walk up to the reception area - people who are less mobile may need assistance, it is best if you get dropped off by a taxi or car right at the doors of the reception.

I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone wanting to go to Waiheke Island! I would love to come back to use more of the facilities.

I was really upset that the pool had substandard gates that did not swing shut and lock. The gate had to be opened with some difficulty as the top latch was broken - it was a rusty bolt. Once open it had to be manually shut and locked as the child lock was broken. I told the staff that I was concerned that a toddler may drown and my concerns were not taken seriously. They said the Council had approved the pool safety just before Easter - they basically just disregarded me. I will be contacting the Council with my concerns - this is simply not good enough. Will it take a tragedy to happen? The staff were defensive and the after hours phone was turned off so we could not reach anyone after five pm. Seriously - not good enough! The pool was also not well maintained with rubbish left around. Generally it had an air of being relatively unkempt with only the very basics attended to. Such a shame as this could be a really nice place with a more friendly and helpful attitude and some attention to making it feel welcoming. Most disappointed - my son was looking forward to a game of tennis with his cousin only to be told that there were no tennis balls as people had been stealing them! That I could believe as my rented bike helmet went missing overnight! It seems that there is no sense of security here. Keep your door locked at night!

Room Tip: Be aware - some units are right next to sewerage tanks!

Hi Lynley,

Thank you for your review.
Apologies if you did not feel your concerns about the pool gates were not taken seriously by the staff. We are waiting on the delivery for the new gates and fence and hope that this would be installed this week. Unfortunately tennis balls do go missing a lot, not having a sporting good store on Waiheke means that sometimes we do run out.

This place has amazing potential but the staff were rude and unhelpful. Our room was not made up, with sheets and towels just dumped on the beds. We found uncovered duvets in the cupboard. The kitchen coffees etc were depleted and not replaced. Reception closes at 5 and the after hours number only had an answer phone. When we mentioned our unmade room to the duty manager we were told that we were lying! When we asked how to access the tennis courts we were told we had to supply our own tennis balls. Generally the staff were particularly defensive.

Room Tip: Be careful. Many rooms are near septic tanks.

A week long conference at the resort mean that we can truly comment on the food - amazing quality. Go there just for this and the views from the restaurant. The facilities are beginning to look a little run down but all was forgiven because of the service, location and restaurant.

We stayed in a two bedroom villa - very spacious and nice big deck with a view over Palm Beach and trees. I'd recommend this place for groups and families, with a swimming pool and tennis courts there's plenty to keep everyone entertained. It's only a 5 min walk from the beach, we had a swim and there were kayaks available to hire. Nice and quiet too.

Good spot on a beautiful island!

Stayed here to attend a wedding at Ti Toki retreat. The location excellent for this but we were somewhat disappointed in the standard of the villa we stayed in - didn't live up to the description & photos on website. Room was clean but standard of glassware & crockery poor. Fridge needed defrosting as chugged its way through the night!! Cracked tiles need replacing & please empty ashtrays left on deck in the future. Grounds need attention.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in ealy January. We did not realize that the property is managed/owned by two separate companies. The company that managed our unit was Waiheke Unlimited. We were surprised to find out that there was a swimming pool at the facility but only the guests who booked through the other management have access to the pool. Waiheke Unlimited does not advertise the pool or a restaurant on the property. There is no phone or internet service in the unit but there is TV service. The unit was relatively clean but the floor was very sandy.

We stayed in a studio unit (#44) which did have a view of the beach from the balcony. Unfortunately, it was at the bottom of a steep drive with very limited turn around space. There were numerous units along the road and cars parked all along. We did not realize until we first went down the road to unload our bags that there was no space to turn so we had to back up the curving drive with a very narrow path between parked cars and a concrete retaining wall. It was a bit challenging as we are Americans and accustomed to the driver's position on the left side of the vehicle---and this was our first back-up of this trip. The drive was always full of cars during our stay so we ended up parking at the top of the hill in the rather overcrowded lot rather than attempt the challenge again. Parking in general at this facility is tight.

Because of the parking situation, I would be very hesitant to recommend this facility. I am not sure if this is the situation at all of the resort facilities on Waiheke. It is a beautiful Island and we truly enjoyed seeing the beauty of the entire island.

Room Tip: I w2ould not pick Unit 44 unless you like to hike up and down to your vehicle.
