My wife and I came here during the afternoon after having lunch elsewhere. We found it to have great scenery and atmosphere and plenty of things to keep kids occupied. We both had a glass of the Man O War sauvignon blanc which was a fantastic wine. We order a pâté platter for $12.50 which was nice but very basic. I would have liked to have seen it dressed up a bit to look more presentable.

Absolutely stunning beachfront location in a secluded bay at the bottom (east) end of Waiheke Island with trees for shade on a sunny day.
Really good platter for two to share with hot bread and selection of olive oil, cheeses, pate etc and a couple of glasses of nice wine.
Worth the drive on the dusty road past Stony Batter to get there.

We stumbled across this winery when exploring the far end of the island. It overlooks a lovely white sand beach looking across to Pakatoa Island. We wandered in and were offered different wines to sample at the bar. We all agreed on the delectable Pinot Gris which we ordered along with a very tasty lunch platter that had something for everyone. As it was a lovely, sunny day we sat outside on the verandah and chatted to a lovely couple over from Canada who were delighted they had found this place too in their short travels around NZ. Very laid back, memorable afternoon with top notch wine and lovely complimentary food.

Myself and my now husband planned our secret wedding at Man O'War Bay and Vineyard from back home in Glasgow. The staff, champagne, wine, food and setting was perfect. Denise, Rachel and other staff really looked after us and made our day very special. We cannot thank them enough. I would highly recommend Man O'War, it is a must see when you visit Waiheke Island. An ideal wedding venue

We headed out to Man o War after trying their wines at a wine club tasting.
1 January was a lovely day and we got there to find a lovely set up - the cellar was opposite the beach with a lovely outlook, lots of trees for lounging around under.
We purchased a bottle of wine, spread a blanket and enjoyed the ambience and surrounds. Platters were available and those passing looked enticing but we weren't hungry enough to move to purchase.
There was a swingball set and cricket bat and stumps to keep the kids busy; lots of families picnicing making the most of the beach over the way and the cellar.
Highly recommended
