Arrived in Auckland two days prior to leaving on a cruise. Since we had previously spent three weeks touring New Zealand a year prior to this visit, we opted for a day trip out of Auckland and took the Waiheke Island Ferry, Explorer Tour of the island.
Surprisingly a wonderful way to spend a portion of the day. $52/pp for the ferry and island tour (the company also offers a wine tour for $119/pp). Ferry ride of about 40-45' and tour for 90'. Following the tour, visitors have unlimited access to public bus transportation and/or can be simply dropped off in the town of Oneroa for lunch prior to returning to Auckland.
Though Auckland is a wonderful small city, this was definitely an enjoyable escape.

Thank psa

We visited Auckland on a cruise in March and chose Christine's tour after much research on TripAdvisor. She greeted us off the ferry - having given us very clear instructions where to catch it and how to find it - and we joined 3 other independent travellers for a fantastically informative and fun packed day. We visited Peacock Sky for some wine tasting and also Kennedy Point, as my husband had been given a row of grapes there as a birthday present. We had lunch at our request at Mudbrick winery which was delightful and I can see why it is so popular for weddings. Christine has lived on Waiheke for many years and is passionate about it. She is well informed and happy to give as much knowledge as she can without overloading us. The scenery on the island is spectacular and there were plenty of photo stops. I can thoroughly recommend this company for a well priced, comfortable and delightful day out in this corner of Paradise.

There is a bit of Paradise a short hop from Auckland called Waiheke Island. After a short 30 minute ferry ride from Auckland 4 of us had the pleasure of meeting with Christine Gisby of See Waiheke Tours. Christine is the owner of the company and a long time resident of Waiheke.
She whisked us away in a very comfortable van for a marvellous day of Superb vistas, delightful wineries ( Obsidian and Peacock Sky), ocean beaches were we swam and walked and a good cultural overview of what Waiheke was and is.
We had a beautiful lunch at Peacock Sky Winery at her suggestion.
Throughout the day Christine's knowledge of Waiheke and her passion for her island bubbled forth. We thoroughly enjoyed her company and were sorry to say goodbye at the end of the day.
One of us had forgotten a camera at one of the stops. A phone call to Christine and she found the camera and had it on the ferry the next morning. Thank you Christine. You made it a great day in every way.

i was part of a private group for a girlie 30th birthday day out - starting with zip lining, lunch & wine tasting, and then two further wineries. Christine was our driver/guide/organiser and was absolutely fantastic! she knew everything about the Island and also got right into the vibe of our group (6 very hyped up 30 year old women!), playing along with our fun. There were times where we ran slightly behind schedule, but she never once made us feel pressured or rushed, and took care of everything. From the sounds of things, the person who arranged things with Christine could not have had an easier time making the arrangements - no request too difficult! Recommend without hesitation and would be in touch with her again should I return to Waiheke.

Our guide Christine Gisby was the perfect combination of knowledge of the island and enthusiasm about it with responsiveness to our indicated interests. She knew exactly what to show us and who to call to get us special treatment when we were there.
