Me and my family were searching the best way to visit the vineyards, and we found Ananda in Waiheke site in the internet. Asking at the information center in Davenport Ananda was strong recommended as we would be in very good hands.
And the visit was great, Jenny , who is one of the owners, picked us on the ferry. She took us to four vineyards: Mudbrick, Kennedy Point, StonyRidge and Te Whau. This last one we have already chosen for lunch when we arranged the tour and Jenny has made the reservation before - which revealed fundamental as it was holiday and they were fully booked. She also showed us the astonishing views and took us to city center.
I surely recomend Ananda Tours instead of those big tours with a lot of people. We were five people visiting, so we could have much more attention in the wineries, specially on Mudbrick and Kennedy Point who were empty when we did the wine tasting.

We took the wine enthusiast tour 2 years ago and a a great time with tasting and the Mudbrick Lunch. This time brought my parents and did the same....great day of sampling wine, sight seeing, and a few laughs.

Mudbrick lunch and taking the time to walk around the property is great. Peacock Sky Rose was my favorite. Cable Bay wines were not quite as good as others.

Regardless it's a great tour with Nick who tells some great tales.

We were interested in doing one of the Waiheke wine tours and Ananda was one of the first tour companies to get back to us and were very helpful and enthusiastic in making sure the day was exactly what we wanted. They helped with arranging our ferries (slightly complicated as we were staying in Gulf Harbour).
The groups are small - there were 8 of us in our group which is a nice size. We were able to select which vineyards we wanted to go to - 3 in total - Kennedy Point, Peacock Sky and Stoneyridge.
The first 2 vineyards were absolutely amazing even though both were very small. The wine tastings were very generous! I would not recommend the 3rd vineyard (Stoneyridge) as we felt the tasting was extremely rushed and the person doing it was very uninterested and just wanted to get us in and out again.
We had lunch at Mudbrick winery (on recommendation from Ananda) - and this was incredible! The views were stunning and the food matched! Pricey but well worth it.
All in all, we had an amazing day and cannot recommend Ananda tours enough!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND you spend the day on Waiheke with Ananda Tours. With our new friend, Stuart, at the wheel we toured four wonderful vineyards and sampled a variety of Waiheke's finest wine offerings. The staff of each vineyard were warm and welcoming and extremely generous sharing their knowledge and love of fine wines (surely having Stuart there to choreograph each visit was a huge help). But, by far, the highlight of the day was lunch at Mudbrick. We had planned to dine indoors, but, again, Stuart was there with exactly the right suggestion and we opted to have a platter out on the patio. Perfect call! A beautiful lunch paired with tremendous wines and a stunning view -- couldn't ask for a finer dining experience. Thank you to all who had a part in creating this wonderful day!

We really enjoyed our day on Waiheke Island. Work colleagues told me that a trip to Waiheke Island was a must while visiting Auckland and they were right. We were met at the wharf by Steve who was very relaxed and friendly. There were nine people on the tour. We went to three wineries and then had lunch at Mud Brick Winery. I have read trip advisor reviews that say that meals at Mud Brick are very small. It was a very sunny day so we chose to sit outside and have a $60 platter to share. It was very good and all that we needed after a morning of wine tasting. The view back to Auckand was spectacular. Main courses inside the restaurant were $50 and didn't have the nice open air feeling. The gardens at Mudbrick were interesting because they grow herbs and vegetables that they use. Steve the tour guide said his brother is the gardener for Mud Brick. We went to Jurassic Ridge Winerey which is owned and run by a very interesting man called Lance who has been a geologist and a neurologist before becoming a wine maker. We ordered a case of his wine and if you have a choice of which wineries to go to I would recommend his. This tour was the highlight of our trip to Auckand and Steve says his business is small and family owned which made it better. We saw the buses for Fullers Tours who also run the ferry and were very pleased that we hadn't chosen one of there tours. The Auckand CBD didn't seem very interesting so we would highly recommend a trip to Waiheke especially if it is a sunny day.
