“One day hike fun even in the rain!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

The one day hike was great even in the rain! We took a boat out to the furthest point and hiked back to a central meeting point to take the boat back to town. The views are stunning, and the hike gives you exercise, but isn't too difficult. We finished more than an hour before the predicted time, so if you're in good shape plan on bringing a book to read in the cozy lodge while you wait for the return boat.

“A magnificent walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

6 of us ( various levels of fitness) completed the walk over 5 days. I heard it was lovely, but didn't quite expect the scenery we witnessed. This place is magnificent!! Our trip was organized via Destination Marlborough (i site) and all questions were met with helpful responses by the friendly workers' emails before the trip. They were just as friendly when we met them at Picton at the office where we departed for our adventure after staying the first 2 nights at Picton at the Broadway Motel in a comfortable unit with very friendly and accommodating hosts. We were even allowed to leave our unnecessary clothing for collection upon our return. . Our first night's stay along the track was at Furneaux Lodge in studio units which I loved ( see review) I didn't want to leave - but the track beckoned. 2nd night at Punga Cove Resort staying in a cosy, chalet type of accommodation at Punga Lodge for the 3 x couples. Our 3rd & 4th nights were spent at Peppers Portage Resort which had beautiful views indeed. There seems to be much less expensive accommodation along the way though and the Marlborough company can suit all budgets apparently. I would love to do the trip again.

“Queen Charlotte Track, Natural Encounters, Picton”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2013

We have just completed a 5 day unguided walk on the Queen Charlotte Track. What an amazing track for first time walkers such as ourselves. We had Greg from Natural Encounters in Picton plan our walk and everything went wonderfully. Greg organised our accommodation, meals, and luggage transport from lodge to lodge each day - all we had to do was walk! We sometimes loitered a little too long over the great packed lunches supplied and over the incredible vista so our days were a little longer than the suggested time frames. Would highly recommend both Natural Encounters and this walk.

“A stunning introduction to the South Island!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2013

The QC Track is less talked about than Abel Tasman, for example, but I had it recommended to me, and so glad I went! Epic views and a perfect day of walking. Next time, I'd love to do it in summer and camp along the way...
