Awesome hostel! Warm and cosy atmosphete. Not expensive. The free spa is perfekt for relaxing after a long day of tramping. Nice chillout area and free WiFi. There is a hamhock outside as well as a well equiped bbq place.

We were not able to stay at Villa Backpackers as the earthquake prevented us from getting there but we were very impressed with the fact that our reservation was cancelled with no charge and in such a pleasant manner. Thank you

We stayed in Picton for one night as we were going to Queen Charlotte Track the next day. When we checked in, the staff at the reception gave us lots of information we needed along the track. Also we could buy the ferry tickets and QCTLC in the hostel.

In this hostel people feel good and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The rooms are big, the kitchen as well and the lounge has a nice book collection. Additionally there is plenty of corners and spots to hide in the garden and enjoy peace and quiet if you want to be on your own for a while. The staff is very helpful and friendly. 5 minutes wald to the waterfront and shops. Shuttle to the ferry. Everything perfect.

Just slept 1 night there..
Not only was the floor dirty but also the "pillowcase". I def. recommend bringing your sleepbag or a cover. Furthermore does the Wi-Fi not work properly. It's very annoying, wouldn't choose the accommodation again.
