We went there twice during a short stay near Picton. Recommended by our B & B host as clearly the best restaurant in the vicinity.
At the firat vist the local fresh fish was excellent served with a beautiful lemon risotto. The pannacotta dessert was to die for consisting of the pannacotta lightly flavoured with rum, a meringue, spun sugar and apricot. The meal was so good that we returned 2 days later. This time one of us had fish again ad one tookthe saddle of lamb, which was exquisite (easily the best in New Zealand as one of your other contributors says) and served on a "fritter" of courgette, spinach and feta cheese. That was imaginative cooking, beautifuly executed and just right with the lamb. Had to have the pannacotta again though did see other good looking desserts going by. Wine list short but fine. The young lady chef here needs to be congratulated on what she's doing. Writing this review makes me want to be back there.
|The restaurant is on the first floor overlooking Waiwaka marina, a pretty sight.
