“Large Portions But deleicious”

We had both dinner and breakfast here as it was close to where we were staying. The portions were very large which we rarely experienced in our travels around NZ. I had the fish and chips for dinner and they were light and tasty. One plate at breakfast could easily feed two. The service was friendly and very attentive.

“A good restaurant but could do better”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2014 via mobile

Overall this restaurant offers a good menu. I had a venison steak which was superb. The wines are pricey. Service was disappointing. We waited 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence or presented us with a menu. We did not feel that we were welcomed and this was despite booking our table in advance. They need to get this right as there are several competing restaurants nearby.

We went here for a quick drink one afternoon and breakfast the following morning which was excellent. They also have free Wi-Fi for guests.

“Great coffee but the advertised wifi didn't work!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2014

Coffee was outstanding as was the view. Real cafe feel. However the free wifi was next to useless. You had to stand round a certain corner to get a signal. It was quite amusing watching customers wave their phones high in the air. We tried to come back for lunch but all the tables were full......not with people eating.....but with people struggling to get a signal.

“Good seafood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2014

We enjoyed a pleasant lunch here. Whitebait fritters were one of the days specialties, we also had a 1kg serve of mussels. Craft beer is on offer as well as a good selection of other food and beverages. Plenty of tables either on the footpath facing the water or indoors. Good service and pleasant staff.
