Review of The Madeira Hotel

The Madeira Hotel
Ranked #7 of 7 Quick Bites in Akaroa
Price range: $16 - $32
Cuisines: International
Description: Warm, atmospheric traditional Kiwi pub. Come on in and watch sports, listen to good, music at the weekends, and enjoy our variety of Gastropub food. The upstairs hostel is great for meeting new people, enjoying the beauty of Akaroa for a few days, and to enjoy a night out without having to even exit the building!

Working in town this is my go to place. Always a warm fire and friendly staff on these chilly evenings.

I have yet to have a meal that was anything less then amazing. The menu far exceeded my expectations for a pub. I highly recommend the spicy chicken burger, curly fries and Eton mess dessert!

The owner goes above and beyond with providing a courtesy shuttle to prevent drinking and driving.

Thanks Madeira Team!

The fish and chips was awful, overcooked and dry. No real restaurant, you eat in the bar area. Worst meal we've had in NZ.

Stopped in here on many occasions, awesome food and great service behind the bar. Really good selection of beers and spirits, best place in town for a burger and beer!
