Compared to most venues in Akaroa the food choices and prices were reasonable. Great assortment of cakes. They don't want you to stay long if the seating is anything to go by - square footstools are hard to sit on for too long.

Very good food. Great parsnip, apple and cardamon soup! Delicious coconut lemon meringue cake thingy. Friendly staff.

This is the best little stop for sustenance in Akaroa. The cabinet food is great, the coffee is excellent and the staff are delightful. Service is always accompanied with a smile. Not a lot of seating but hey that is minor.

Looking forward to a taste of France in Akaroa we headed here on recommendations.

After a pleasant welcome from the staff and inviting cabinet food, we decided to order the Le Parisien breakfast off the blackboard menu. It promised baguette, pain au chocolat, croissant with jam, fresh fruit salad and yoghurt, orange juice, and coffee.

Nicely presented but the baguette was not a traditional crunchy, airy piece of Paris but a lame excuse made of white bread and shaped baguette-style. The L'Affare coffee, usually a brand of some note, was so poorly made it was undrinkable. Shame.

Food and coffee were good, but the waitress was a bit miserable and could have been friendlier. Enough said.
