Arrived at Akaroa Holiday Park in the dark and bucketing down. The plane left Auckland late because of fog at Christchurch airport. This was the first day of our 5 day very first campervan adventure. The park is on the hill behind the coastal town of Akaroa and I paid extra to back the campervan onto the edge of the park so as to get a beautiful view of the town. Silly me it was do wet and cold that all the windows fogged up and we couldn't see a thing. The facilities that we used were really good and I think under different weather conditions could have been great. We had to drive down to the town to find a cafe for dinner - too far to walk on the road although there was a track in the bush but not to be used without a torch and in wet conditions.
