Akaroa House Bed & Breakfast

What a fabulous house! A group of friends stayed there for 2 nights after completing the Banks Peninsular Track. The kitchen was to die for! Didn't want to leave the house to eat out so bought supplies from the local shops and cooked up a storm in the kitchen. Only complaint was we didn't have enough time there. Our stay at Akaroa House was the "icing on the cake" after 4 hard days of walking! We would definitely stay there again!

Thank you for your feedback and Akaroa House would be a lovely treat after four days of walking the Banks Peninsula Track - well done. The house does provide great dining options - inside or out depending on the season. Kind regards Alison .

We had an amazing time staying at Akaroa House - the house was perfect in many ways, and it facilitated a very successful coming together of two families. There were so many spaces for family to hang out, and everyone was very relaxed. We used the house as a reception venue for a small wedding, and it worked incredibly well. We feel very lucky to have been able to have that weekend, and by all accounts it will go down in family history as something special.

The owners of the house are very efficient, friendly and were responsive to our queries. Our family are thinking of doing the whole thing again!

A fantastic house for a group or a very large family. Loads of room for everyone to spread out and have space. Great cooking facilities, not that we used them because we ate out at fabulous Akaroa restaurants, and plenty of bathrooms. Great location on the hill with a lovely lawn for early evening drinks. Loved our stay at Akaroa House and highly recommend it.

Akaroa House provided us the ideal retreat for a weekend away with a group of friends. It is well located to give spectacular views of the stunning location and it an easy stroll into the village for dinning/shopping. The house provides all you could ask for if you wish to cater "at home" with a fantastic kitchen and large dinning area as well as the option to dine al-fresco.
The bedrooms are generous and very comfortable, with good quality linen and bathroom facilities.
Perfect for families or a group of friends.

Stayed here with a group of girlfriends and went to the Akaroa Cook School. It was fantastic. Amazing views, plenty of room, beautiful bathrooms, places to curl up with a book, easy walk to the village and lots of wonderful homely touches. If we hadn't been so tempted by the lovely places to eat and drink in Akaroa we could have happily stayed in at Akaroa House every night and enjoyed it even more. Would definitely recommend this and the cook school was absolutely fabulous too. Couldn't ask for a better combination of friends, fun and accommodation.

What a great idea - spending time with special friends. Pleased you enjoyed Akaroa House - and the cooking school is such a great "fit" for a fun weekend. There are lots of fabulous eateries in Akaroa - and places to buy great produce too for self-catering - fish off the wharf - a great butcher. Little street market some weekends, and a great obliging village 4 Square has most things. A foodies delight : ) happy summer

We have just had a girls weekend away with seven women and Akaroa House was all we expected and more. It is luxury group accommodation, we were very comfortable and the views were fabulous from the house and grounds. It is a short walk to the town and restaurants and the Akaroa Cooking School. Thanks Alison for a lovely stay.. would definitely recommend to others.

Thank you Sue for choosing Akaroa House for your Ladies Get Together weekend - fun to gather everyone together and so important in this crazy busy world we live!! Hope those recipes from the Akaroa Cooking School are coming in handy. The house does work out more economic if you can stay longer or entice a few more to join you - but it is lovely having five bedrooms and four bathrooms to spread out. A stunning day here today - have a great summer. Kind Regards

Alison

Thank you Victoria - lovely you could get down to Akaroa and spend time with your friends. The house is in a great spot - easy to get to everything but away from the main street hustle. Also very peaceful in it's own grounds - which are looking fabulous with the first season's roses in full bloom - they usually go right through until May!. Happy cooking with the recipes from Ant and Lou at the Akaroa Cooking School : ) Regards Alison
